Admissions

We are currently accepting applications on a rolling-admission basis

Criteria for acceptance

Fort Monmouth Day Program accepts individuals with developmental disabilities aged 21 and over who meet the criteria outlined by the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and whose support needs align with the services we can provide. Any Diagnosis, Disability, and Tier will be considered for approval.

  • We understand that choosing the right program is an important decision, and we want to make the process as smooth and welcoming as possible. Here’s what to expect:

Meet & Greet + Facility Tour

We begin with a friendly, in-person meeting where the potential participant, their caregiver, and (if available) their support coordinator will meet with our team. During this visit, we’ll:

Take a guided tour of our day program

Get to know the participant, their interests, and their goals

Discuss the types of support needed for success in our program

The participant’s presence at this meeting is required, as we want to ensure they feel comfortable and engaged in the process.

    Determining Fit + Appropriateness

Within 24 hours of the initial meeting, our team will review all gathered information and decide whether we have the right supports in place to help the participant thrive.

    Tryout Period

If our program seems like a good match, we’ll invite the applicant to attend a full-day tryout. This allows them to experience our program firsthand and helps both our team and the participant determine if it’s the right fit.

    Admission Decision

After the tryout, we’ll make a final decision and communicate the next steps:

    If accepted:
We’ll schedule an admissions meeting to finalize paperwork and gather any necessary documents.

If we’re not the right fit:
We’ll provide guidance on alternative options that may better meet the participant’s needs.

Waiting list

Our Rolling Admission & Waitlist Process

At Fort Monmouth Day Program, we enroll new participants on a rolling-basis, ensuring that every individual we welcome receives the highest quality of care and support. There are times that we may briefly pause new enrollments to focus on those already in our program.

If we are not actively enrolling at the time of your inquiry, we may place you on a waitlist. This allows us to thoughtfully manage admissions and ensure we have the right supports in place for every participant.

The waiting list is managed with fairness and transparency to ensure that individuals have equal opportunities for admission. Our team will keep you informed throughout the process and reach out when an opening becomes available.
